That first picture of us is at one of Santiago´s stand up cafes, basically you go to the register buy a ticket for your coffee, then stand at the bar for a coffee and a geez at the scantily clad waitresses, its almost like the Cliffo back home but with more clothes, more coffee, more snotty attitudes, slightly more class but no pool tables, no props, no beer and slightly less fun. Actually, its nothing like the cliffo. Its more like a cross between starbucks and hooters.
That night our flights to Punta Arenas were due to leave at 9pm, we were running really late, we arrived at the airport at about 8:17pm and rushed around like headless chooks until I heard one of the LAN Chile staff say that our flight had been cancelled due to bad weather. This was kinda OK as there was another flight in the morning we could catch and still make the ferry. It turned out to be bloody awesome as the attendant then went on to tell us that LAN Chile would pay for all of us to stay in a 5 Star Hotel overnight, meals and airports tranfers included. Pretty decent huh?
After a nice meal and an excellent bottle of Chilean Red (May Ann, it was a J.Bouchon Extra Special Cab Sav 2004) we retired to our own rooms for the evening, soooo good to get your own room after breathing each others farts and constantly waiting for the shower for the past month. As soon as i got into my room i stunk it up with my own fart, had a shower and watched whatever I wanted on Cable TV (which happened to be Naked Wild-on). It was great.
