DAY 2 in NYC - Pils, scratcher and Ed go to whitecastle (and just about everywhere else in downtown NYC)

2 MAY 2007 :

I am having heaps of fun in NY its a great city. Started off yesterday with a traditional NY breakfast of waffles, bacon, sausages and syrup. Then we started walking. We walked all over downtown New York and visited Broadway, Chinatown, Little Italy, Wall St and Ground Zero (pretty eeirie place). After that we headed to Brooklyn bridge and walked over that, the weather was great and the sights were spectacular. We then explored Brooklyn a little before stopping for a late lunch at whitecastle (an american burger chain) The burgers were craptacular, alittle bit like dogfood compressed into a pattie then steamed with a bun and some sauce, never go to whitecastle i dont care how stoned you are. We then walked back over the brooklyn bridge to manhattan to look for another apartment to rent (this went on for hours, and we couldnt find a place because of cinco de mayo on saturday (its mexican independance day, and apparently there is a big party all over new york on this night) When we finally got back to the hostel my feet were killing so we quickly sat down and cracked a few beers on the roof. After those beers I got up and limped with a few other aussies and brazilians we met on the roof to go play some pool at a local bar. Ryan and I teamed up and whooped the brazilians in pool multiple times, and emerged undefeated at the end of the night. On the way back to the hostel I grabbed a new york hot dog with chilli beans and cheese etc and learnt how to swear in spanish from the vendors. Oh by the way, the three hombres from the left are Mark (pils), Ryan (scratcher) and the ugliest one on the right is me.
